Mr. and Mrs. Alexe were married in London on April 10, 1902. Mrs. Alexe left her husband in February, 1911, and went to live with her sister at 323 Argyle Road. She brought suit for a separation on the ground of cruel and inhuman treatment. He filed a counter action for separation on the ground of abandonment. Neither Mrs. Alexe nor her attorney was in court yesterday. Her husband testified that while he and his wife were in London her pet spaniel was run over and killed by a carriage and that she held him responsible for the death of the dog, although he was in no way to blame. He said that their relations continued strained from that moment and that the act of abandonment could be traced back to the death of her pet."¹
