I George Downing of Beccles in the countie of Suffolk being of whole minde and perfect remembrance doe make this my testament and last will in manner and forme following. Ffirst I bequeathe my soule to Almighty God my maker and redeemer (something inserted above is unreadable) by whose deathe and passion I trust most assuredlie to be saved(?) And my body to be buried in the church yearde of Beccles aforesaid. Item I bequeathe unto the personn (parsonn) there for my tythes negligently forgotten (2s 6d?) And to the reparation of the church of B? (17s 8d?). Item I give to the ----- of the poor of the hospitall in Beccles (12d?). John Thrasher was born on 15 February 1753 at Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Bezaleel Thrasher and Hannah West.1 John Thrasher married Bathania Stevens on 12 December 1771 at Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts; They had the following children born in Taunton: Elkanah, b. 28 Sep 1772, m. 8 Jan 1795 to Lydia Codding, d. in Taunton 19 Apr 1851; Zelotas, b. 20 Apr 1775, m. 22 Aug 1795, Mary Hixon of Sharon; Polly Stephens, b. 17 Apr 1777, m. Salmon Hewitt; John, b. 15 Sep 1779; William, b. 28 Mar 1782; Noah, b. 4 Jan 1784; m. Rebecca Hathaway Dec 1810, d. 17 Feb 1847; Alfred, b. 15 Dec 1786, m. Charlotte Leonard; and Sophronia, b. 14 Mar 1795, m. Edward Wilcox.1 John Thrasher died on 2 December 1833 at Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts, at age 80.1
