Source 205 (The Stocking Ancestry) states that she married Matthew Woodruff--this source has been wrong about every marriage regarding the children of Hannah Stocking and Andrew Benton and no doubt errs here, too.^1,3 Mary Benton married Jonathan Bigelow after 1708 at Connecticut; They had a son, Joseph.¹ Mary Benton married Deacon John Shepard on 19 March 1713 at Connecticut.¹ Mary Benton was buried on 23 December 1752 at The First Church Cemetery, Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut.¹

The Stocking Ancestry by Hobart Stocking states he married Mary Woodruff. This source has all the marriages wrong for the children of Andrew Benton and Hannah Stocking. This is no doubt wrong, too.^1,2

Under the heading "The Names of such Inhabitants as have right in undivided Lands," George Stocine appears as 36th name in list of 121 proprietors of Hartford.
