He was the son of John Webster, one of the first settlers of Hartford, and Hadley, Massachusetts. Fine 6s 8d.⁴ On 22 April 1584 Robert Trott purchased 2 cottages with curtilages containing [?] daynes in the tithing of Southtrendle, formerly of Elena Ware, by grant of Richard Aplyn (fine 2s). Also 3 acres of overland called Stonydowne, parcel of 12 1/2 acres of overland called Stonydowne next to the land of Christopher Kevell in the south part, and a barn and parcel of le Watring Pitt for beasts, in the tithing of Southtrendle, by grant of William Heringe (fine 20s) with 1 house and 9 acres of overland (fine 3s 8d). Also for 4 acres of overland called Stony Downe in the tithing of Southtrendle, late of Agnes Hering, by grant of William Hering (fine 5s 10d).⁴ On 30 March 1591 Robert Trott purchased 4 acres of overland called Stonydowne, with structures on the premises, in the tithing of Southtrendle, formerly of William White, by grant of Nicholas Gibbes. Fine 6s 8d.⁴ He was buried on 16 February 1599 at Pitminster, Somerset, England.^5,1,2,6,3 His estate was probated after 16 February 1598/99 at Taunton, Somerset, England.^1,2 His land was surrendered to his son, Richard, in 1600 because of his death.³
