William Pryor was born between 1760 and 1770.1 He was the son of Joseph Pryor.2 William Pryor married Martha (?).2 William Pryor was appointed to work on the "road from William Bohanons to the three mile Tree" on 17 April 1807 at White County, Tennessee.3 He took an oath of office as a Justice of the Peace on 16 October 1807 at White County, Tennessee.3 On 16 November 1808 at White County, Tennessee, William Pryor resigned as a Justice of the Peace.3 He was one of several men appointed to view a "road around Moses Lenville's field the nearest and best way to meet Alexander" on 13 February 1809 at White County, Tennessee.3 He was summoned by the Sheriff of White County as directed by the Court to serve as a juror on 17 November 1809 at White County, Tennessee.3 He was one of several men appointed to work on "the Walton Road leading from Daniel Alexander's old stand to Mount Grainer and keep the same in repair as the law directs" on 12 February 1811 at White County, Tennessee.3 He served on a jury on 18 April 1815 at White County, Tennessee.3 He served on a jury between 18 October 1815 and 19 October 1815 at White County, Tennessee.3 On 21 October 1816 at White County, Tennessee, William Pryor produced in open Court one wolf scalp over the age of four months and there upon proved that the same was killed in the County of White since the 1st, day of January 1816. Mary Lou Holman was born in March 1864 at Tennessee.1 She and James Bartlett began living together circa 1880 at Tennessee. No marriage record has ever been found and James' first wife, Margaret, was still alive in 1900. Margaret was called a widow on the census and she lived with her daughter and son-in-law. Family members in Mississippi were aware, however, that James was alive as he visited there occasionally.1,2
